Stay up to date

At Webber Phillips, we empower organisations to better understand the ethnic, linguistic and cultural composition of their employees, customers, and service users.

We enable our clients to make informed decisions that promote inclusivity, improve engagement, and strengthen overall service delivery by providing a clearer picture of the diverse groups within these populations.

Our data insights provide a detailed perspective that goes beyond traditional self-identification, capturing behaviours and preferences across diverse communities with remarkable accuracy.

Our approach

Through our proprietary technology, we go beyond traditional demographic data. Unlike methods that rely on self-identification, our solution integrates sophisticated algorithms to analyse data efficiently, unobtrusively, and with high accuracy, allowing us to capture real behaviours, preferences, and trends across different groups.

This innovative approach offers clients an enhanced understanding of group behaviour, revealing not just who these groups are but how they behave, allowing organisations to tailor services, communication, and strategies to resonate better with diverse audiences.

Our founders

Our founders were Professor Richard Webber, originator of the Acorn and Mosaic postcode classifications- widely used tools in understanding population demographics and consumer behaviour across the UK- and Sir Trevor Phillips OBE, Broadcaster, writer and former Chair of the Equality and Human Rights Commission.

Origins data played a crucial role in helping the Trust understand the impact of COVID-19 on different ethnic groups, for both staff and patients. The application of Origins has now been expanded to analyse inequalities at a detailed level across various specialties. Origins provides insights that help the Trust deliver services tailored to the needs of individual groups, ensuring more equitable service provision.
Our exclusive partnership with Webber Phillips to provide the Origins data to the UK policing arena is one that we value very highly. This key ethnicity data, combined with the mapping capabilities within our Neighbourhood Alert system, enables police forces to identify their hard-to-reach communities down to household level and use this information to formulate their local engagement strategies.
